Toggle presses reach their rated force only at the end of the ram stroke. With the toggle lever mechanism, a relatively low force of about 150 N is enough to produce the high working pressure of the press. For this reason they are used in applications where the full force of the press is only required for a short distance at the end of the stroke, e.g. in component assembly, punching, riveting, embossing, gluing etc.
